The Faculty of Natural Sciences also plays an important role in providing academic and technical services to government organizations, the private sector, international organizations, and various communities in Laos. These academic service activities have supported national development through education, scientific expertise, laboratory services, and various academic consultations.

The main academic service activities provided by the lecturers include:

• Developing and improving curricula for universities, colleges, and educational programs;

• Providing scientific experts for national and international development projects;

• Advising government organizations on policies regarding science, environment, industry, energy, education, and natural resources;

• Organizing academic training, seminars, and capacity-building programs in science and technology;

• Field surveys in biodiversity, biology, and geology;

• Chemical analysis services and laboratory testing;

• Environmental quality monitoring and analysis, including water, soil, and wastewater quality assessments;

• Statistical analysis, scientific data analysis, and research support services;

• Supporting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and natural resource management activities;

• Collaborating with ministries, industrial sectors, international organizations, and international partners in applied scientific services.

The laboratories and academic personnel of the faculty have significantly contributed to building national capacity in natural and environmental science, natural resource management, public health, agriculture, and STEM education. These services have helped strengthen the university’s role as a core scientific and technical institution in the Lao PDR.
